The Italian performance house Ducati has officially launched its 2025 Streetfighter V2 and V2 S models in India — priced from ₹ 17.50 lakh (ex-showroom) for the standard version and ₹ 19.48 lakh for the top-spec V2 S. Derived from the Panigale V2 superbike, the Streetfighter V2 wraps potent performance and street-fighter agility in a stripped-down naked format, aimed at riders who crave performance without fairing.

Engine, Performance & Weight

Under the tank sits a new 890 cc, 90-degree V-twin engine — a Euro 5+ compliant powerplant that weighs just 54.4 kg, making it the lightest twin-cylinder motor ever built by Ducati.

  • Output: 120 hp @ 10,750 rpm and 93.3 Nm @ 8,250 rpm.
  • More than 70% of peak torque is available from 3,000 rpm, which translates to strong mid-range performance — ideal for city rides and quick overtakes.
  • The Streetfighter V2’s dry weight is 178 kg, while the V2 S drops to 175 kg (with lithium-ion battery and Öhlins suspension), making it the lightest Streetfighter series ever.

The bike uses a 6-speed gearbox with Ducati’s Quick Shift 2.0 (Q S) for clutch-less up- and down-shifts, and a slipper clutch for smoother downshifts and safer engine braking.

Chassis, Suspension & Handling

The Streetfighter V2 rides on a monocoque aluminium frame that uses the engine as a stressed member — helping centralise mass and deliver nimble handling.

Variant-wise suspension:

  • V2: Fully adjustable Marzocchi USD front fork + KYB rear monoshock.
  • V2 S: Premium Öhlins NIX 30 front fork and Öhlins rear shock + lithium-ion battery for reduced weight.

Braking duties are handled by Brembo M50 monobloc callipers up front on 320 mm discs, matched with Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tyres (120/70 front, 190/55 rear) and a Sachs steering damper for stability under hard braking.

Electronics & Rider Aids

Staying true to Ducati’s “fun + safety” philosophy, the 2025 Streetfighter V2 gets a comprehensive electronics suite powered by a 6-axis IMU: cornering ABS with slide-by brake, predictive traction control, wheelie control, engine-brake control, bi-directional quick-shifter and multiple ride modes (Race, Sport, Road, Wet).

A 5-inch full-TFT display provides all ride info with three different layouts (Road, Road Pro, Track) to suit city commutes, spirited street rides, or occasional track days.

As an added treat for enthusiasts, Ducati offers a racing exhaust accessory — boosting peak power to 126 hp and shedding 4.5 kg — turning the Streetfighter V2 into a more track-ready beast.

What This Means for Indian Riders

With its competitive pricing, potent V-twin engine, lightweight chassis, and modern electronics, the 2025 Streetfighter V2 offers a rare blend of everyday practicality and sporty edge. Its manageable weight and strong mid-range performance make it a viable option for both city commuting and weekend thrills.

For riders seeking a naked sport-bike that balances performance, agility, and usability — without the fairing fuss — the Streetfighter V2 emerges as a compelling choice. In particular, the V2 S variant — with its premium suspension and lighter build — would appeal to those who want sharper handling and better track potential.

Final Thoughts

Ducati’s 2025 Streetfighter V2 delivers on the promise of “less bulk, more fun.” By packing superbike-derived hardware into a lighter, naked street-fighter format, it could very well redefine the middle-weight segment in India — for enthusiasts who value precision, performance, and everyday usability together.
