Luxury Italian marque Maserati has taken a bold leap into the fully electric GT space by launching the 2026 GranTurismo Folgore and GranCabrio Folgore in India.
Both models mark Maserati’s high-performance EV ambitions and arrive with serious specs, style and exclusivity.
The GranTurismo Folgore starts at ₹3.05 crore (ex-showroom), while the drop-top GranCabrio Folgore is priced from ₹3.18 crore (ex-showroom).
Powertrain & Performance
At the heart of both Folgore models lies an 83 kWh usable-capacity battery pack paired with a triple-motor all-wheel-drive set-up (one at the front axle, two at the rear). This rig produces a combined 761 hp and 1,350 Nm of torque, with a temporary “boosted” output reportedly around 829 hp.
- The GranTurismo Folgore hits 0-100 km/h in just 2.7 seconds, while the slightly heavier GranCabrio Folgore manages 2.8 seconds.
- Top speeds: 325 km/h for the GranTurismo and 290 km/h for the GranCabrio.
- Claimed driving ranges sit at approximately 450 km for the GranTurismo and 447 km for the GranCabrio on a single charge.
- Both cars also support ultra-fast DC charging of up to 270 kW, placing them among India’s quickest charging EVs.
Design & Features
Visually, the Folgore versions retain the elegant silhouette of Maserati’s classic grand tourers while receiving subtle EV-specific touches—‘Folgore’ badging, revised bumpers, unique alloy wheels and closed-off grille details.
The GranCabrio Folgore enhances the drama by adding a fabric soft-top roof that opens or closes in just 14 seconds (provided the car is under 50 km/h). It also features a heated neck-warming system for comfortable drop-top driving.
Inside, both models offer a 2+2 seating layout wrapped in premium materials. Tech highlights include a 12.2-inch digital driver display, dual-screen centre console, a flat-bottom steering wheel, and interactive artificial sound modes to evoke the character of a GT even as it glides silently.
Why It Matters in India
At launch, the Folgore duo places Maserati firmly in the ultra-premium EV segment in India—offering not just luxury, but thrilling performance, EV efficiency and exclusivity. Neither car currently has a direct peer in this price and performance bracket in India.
For enthusiasts looking for an electric GT with heritage brand cachet, raucous performance and a distinctly Italian flair, these models deliver a rare mix of sensations.
Final Thoughts
The new Maserati GranTurismo and GranCabrio Folgore EVs are not simply updated versions—they are statement pieces. With blistering acceleration, all-wheel drive thrust, luxurious craftsmanship and electric efficiency, they redefine what an EV GT can offer. At ₹3.05 crore and above, they also underline the sheer exclusivity of driving a full-blooded Italian electric grand tourer in India.
